Holster Skills Workshop
Students who participate in the holster skills workshops will practice and develop the skills to use a holster efficiently. Students will learn and reinforce how to properly access, grip, draw and fire a pistol from the holster. Students will also learn the difference between drawing to a ready, moving, and challenge position, and other details relevant to effectively employing a handgun from the holster.
All experience levels are welcomed at the holster skills workshop.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:
Holster Skills Workshop - 4 Hours
This workshop is designed to prepare students for carrying, drawing, and firing from the holster. Students may be exposed or concealed for this course.
Students will be training on:
Safe firearms handling
Holster safety tips
Efficient holster drawing mechanics
Ready, moving, and challenge positions
Holstering considerations
Efficient reloading mechanics
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Requried materials:
A pistol / revolver
3 Magazines / Speedloaders
A magazine pouch / Pocket carry is acceptable but slower.
A reliable and reputable holster – concealed or exposed.
(concealed Appendix, and Strongside 3 o’clock carry methods only. Specialty styles or niche carry methods must be approved ahead of time)
200 rounds
Hearing protection / Eye protection
Hydration – Water Snacks
Closed toe shoes
NO V NECK OR LOW CUT SHIRTS
If using a 22LR please use high velocity rounds.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS?
Do I need to own a firearm to attend the training?
No. In fact we reccomend attending the training prior to buying your first gun. As it will give you an idea of what firearms to buy if you decide to purchase.
What rentals do you have available?
We use Glock 17 and Glock 19, 9mm pistols as our primary rental pistols for training. We also have a double action revolver, single action revolver, and 22lr pistols available as rentals.
About our Shooting Ranges – Lopez Canyon in Sylmar CA
The holster skills workshop is shot at an outdoor range. Coordinates and bay will be provided to students upon booking. Please note: This range is NOT open to the public. Access to the range is restricted to club members and trainers conducting courses. For your convenience you can use the map below. All bays have cover and seating. There is adequate restrooms and parking. For most cell carriers, reception will be limited once you approach the range. The road is accessible by vehicles with low ground clearance. Please drive slowly when approaching the range. Do not kick up dust or disturb the wildlife when approaching the ranges. The range is located approximately 10 mins from our classrooms. If you are commuting or ridesharing, an instructor can offer you transportation from the classrooms to the ranges. Once on the range, you may bring equipment to the bays but DO NOT uncase any firearms until instructed to do so. CCW / LEO’s you may remain holstered, do not unholster or clear any firearms until instructed to do so.
